It should be noted that this is a plot of the April values for ice extent. April 1979, April 1980, etc. Given that the ice is at greatest extent in March, and the least in September, those values are generally considered more relevant. When an article is about the record minimum in September 2007 or the disappearance of the sea ice, Image:Arctic Sea Ice September Trend 1979-2007.jpg is better. And that is current, as the minimum for 2008 has yet to occur. For a plot of both March and September values use Image:Arctic Sea Ice Extent, March & September, 1979-2007.gif (not quite current, doesn't have March 2008, but March 2008 wasn't that significant of an increase.)

This is not an undate of Image:Arctic Sea Ice September Trend 1979-2007.jpg. Sagredo⊙☿♀♁♂♃♄ 04:49, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

For Sept. values through Sept. 2012 there is another plot on wikicommons at: File:Northern_Hemisphere_Sea_Ice_Extent_Anomalies-Sep.png --DeWikiMan (talk) 18:44, 30 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
