original authorship has to be clarified

[edit]

The original author of this image is not user:Dake 2006. According to the same image in "Der Islam - Kunst, Geschichte und Lebensformen", Christian 1982, Augsburg 1998 (engl. original: Oxford 1982, 1991), p. 206, Francis Robinson refers on page 228 to John Brennan: "Die wichtigsten Teppichknoten", Oxford. Therefore the original authorship has to be clarified for this case. - Anglo-Araneophilus 22:59, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What's going on Commons... The author of the current image is -me- and I used -Inkscape- and I was inspired by several various figures and descriptions of these nodes. If you really want to know, I was inspired by this picture : http://www.decofinder.com/decofinder/_daz/_TAPIS_TAPISSERIE/Noeud_ghordies_noeud_senneh_langton_fichiers/noeuds_fichiers/noeud_senneh.jpg This is not even close to what I did... Hello Dake, thank you very much for your answer.
@ "This is not even close to what I did... " & "So saying "dake is not the author" is disrespectful" (Dake 00:07, 14 October 2006 (UTC) sub User_talk:Anglo-Araneophilus):
There is no significant difference of contents between your design and the corresponding original picture as cited above. It seems to be clear that there is no intellectual or mental authorship of you in this matter. Comparing with Brennan or others, what might be new in your design?

I suppose the original beeing older than 100 years and therefore it could be free. In my opinion you should clarify now expressly the status of licence and cite the original author. Otherwise the image should be deleted in order to exclude an infringement of copyright.-, Anglo-Araneophilus 23:47, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
