Clarifying dates

[edit]

Léonard Ginsburg, the man who's visible on this image, died in 2009. Thus, the photograph couldn't be produced in 2013, it's impossible. After a quick investigation, it turns out that it is very simple to understand what happened with that photograph:

1. On June the 16th, 2001, Alain Thomas photographed Ginsburg in his office, at the Muséum national d'histoire naturelle, in Paris.

2. In 2006, Alain Thomas shared that photograph on his personal website (http://www.atviews.com/leonardginsburg.htm).

3. In 2013, using his iPhone 5s cell phone, Alain Thomas modified his photograph of 2001, thus automatically creating the metadata that are now electronically bound to the resulting file. In the meantime, Léonard Ginsburg had already passed away (in 2009).

4. In January 2014, Alain Thomas created his Commons user account and shared the photograph as modified in 2013, thus introducing in Commons, correct metadata dealing with the modified version of the file, but wrong metadata when referring to the original photograph taken in 2001.

I brought all necessary modifications and I consider that, now, the file is properly published in Commons. Kintaro (talk) 16:35, 8 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
