Mexico

[edit]

I just read that Mexico is in the process of legalizing medical marijuana. Someone needs to confirm and update map. Here's what I read: http://www.marijuana.com/blog/news/2016/12/mexico-is-legalizing-medical-marijuana-next-week/ Accessed: December 12, 2016 — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.194.227.136 (talk) 17:17, 12 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Illinois & New Hampshire

[edit]

Hey everyone! Medical marijuana is also legalized in Illinois and New Hampshire.

Finland and Europe

[edit]

Medical cannabis is legal in Finland if you have a prescription, although such a prescription may be hard to get. -- Piisamson (talk) 13:58, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

According to swedish medical authority Läkemedelsverket, the cannabis-drug Sativex is legal in not just Sweden, but the UK, Spain, Germany and Denmark.[1] Updating accordingly. -- Piisamson (talk) 14:25, 7 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hungary

[edit]

AS a Hungarian, I can say this is incorrect. In Hungary it is illegal to use, possess or sell, punished by prison. No legal medical use either.

Also true about Slovakia — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 188.112.104.36 (talk) 20:50, 03 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Nabiximols are legal in Slovakia. Stjep (talk) 02:49, 12 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

North Korea

[edit]

It is a false claim that cannabis is legal in North Korea, see http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/may/13/mythbusters-uncovering-the-truth-about-north-korea-cannabis-metro . Please fix it, labeling it as 'No information' if necessary. --83.86.49.49 12:35, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

After nearly three years I think it's about time we fix this and label it 'No information' unless anyone can prove otherwise. -- Sixflashphoto (talk) 11:41, 15 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Uruguay

[edit]

Recreational use of cannabis in Uruguay is legal: More precisely, growing it for private use, including in non-profit cannabis social clubs is legal, as well as consuming it. There is already legislation in place for sale through pharmacies, but sale hasn't started yet. Given that many countries with much more restrictions on cannabis use and growth are coloured dark blue in this graphic, Uruguay should also be made dark blue. Only after writing this post did I realize that the graphic is only about cannabis for medical purposes, not recreational purposes. The mistake is due to the fact that on w:en:Legality_of_cannabis, the graphic is shown with a description that claims it is also about recreational use. Romania

[edit]

Medical use of cannabis is legal in Romania, according to Law 339/2005. CaptainFugu (talk) 07:17, 9 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

New SVG version of map has been created

[edit]

Hello all – I just wanted to make a note here that I've created a new SVG version of the world medical cannabis map to replace the existing PNG one. The new map is a simplified version of the PNG map that also corrects some inaccuracies regarding the legal status of several countries. The new map is based off of information contained in the Legality of cannabis table.

Regarding the simplification of the map, I decided to only mark countries that have legalized medical or recreational – and left out countries where cannabis is decriminalized or the law is often unenforced. I did this because otherwise the map would be too complicated and also duplicative of Map-of-world-cannabis-laws.svg. The reason I included recreational though is because it's pretty much an enhanced "over-the-counter" form of medical.--Jamesy0627144 (talk) 09:31, 21 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
