The pictured Palais Liechtenstein in the Herrengasse 6–8 in Vienna (former quarter of Alserbach ("Alserbachviertel") was built for the most part in 18th century and had in the 19th century a facade in the style of the classicism. This palais was located on the place of an older house which was possession of the Princely family von und zu Liechtenstein since 1443. The building was famed because of a classicistical library (used from 1846 as casino) and especially of the Bösendorfersaal, a 1872 opened concert hall inside this building with a famous acoustic (named after Ludwig Bösendorfer (1835-1919)). This building was demolished in 1913 on order of the then municipal leaders in order to make place for new buildings. The last concert in the Bösendorfersaal took place at and was described at large by Stefan Zweig in his work "Die Welt von Gestern" (English title: "The World of Yesterday"). --Katharinaiv (talk) 11:44, 14 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
