Non-English name

[edit]

The English Wikipedia is interested in promoting this pic to FP status but is concerned about it not having any English-language information in its title (i.e., the characters are essentially "meaningless" to most readers). I proposed a file rename, but it was rejected (diff). Is there any Commons policy that can illuminate the situation here, or is there a workaround we can use on the English Wikipedia? —Eustress talk 15:10, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, since Commons is a multilingual project, we allow anyone to name files in any language they want. According to our File renaming guideline, we do not rename files just because it makes them English. If you really need the file to be named in English, you can upload it locally to the English Wikipedia and put {{Do not move to Commons|reason=Your reason here}} in the description, so that no one will reupload the file here by accident. Thanks. Techman224Talk 19:13, 22 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Huh?

This is the group Girls' Generation - why isn't this made clear in the file? --Kawaii-Soft (talk) 15:37, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
