A better solution could be to use a vertical arrangement: 1. Dam 2. Pipe starts 3. Pipe runs 4. Power station

Here I tried to take four pictures to explain how a very small-scale hydroelectric power plant works. The only problem is that the four pictures don't fit together from left to right, because I shot the photos from the left side of the stream.

Left to right is the correct reading order, but the pictures don't match.

Right to left makes the pictures match, water flowing from the right-most image towards the generator in the left-most one, but that's not how the Latin alphabet is read.
