Comment to the skeletal structure

Its actually the amino acid Glycine you have drawn here, as the methyl group (bound to the alfa-carbon) is not shown at the end of the 'wedge' going out of the paper and therefore a hydrogen atom is the default! No, you're quite wrong. Methyl groups do not have to be explicitly shown as -CH3. Simply being the terminus of the wedge is enough to stand for a methyl group. See en:hexane for example.
