This is a Russian propaganda picture, taken after the fall of Äänislinna. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 62.142.45.165 (talkcontribs) 12:43, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, as it's tagged as that also.. The image is actually quite famous in Finland and has been discussed of course. As few sources (Muutosten maailma 4: Suomen historian käännekohtia (2005, WSOY), page 138 (ISBN 951-0-27645-6). and "Jatkosota Kronikka" ISBN 951-20-3661-4, 1991) state it is taken after the occupation. And as the image tag, PD-Russia informs, it is taken by Soviet propaganda. And as we all know the mighty Soviet Propaganda machine, don't use it as a source. But there's no dispute that there were camps. Had those children even ever seen that camp before? Who knows, but the labour and transfer camps existed. So it can be used to illustrate the camp (though there can be better pictures instead of just fence) with saying the truth. User:Fisenko had incorrectly put the description as the pic would have been taken in 1942, eventhough the site he took it from said 1944 and Jatkosota kronikka book etc. also. I don't think it's major issue but I'm just saying this as this case was actually discussed in certain forums. --Pudeo (Talk) 12:05, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
