Hello, I am one of the editors at Wikipedia, the online free encyclopedia, and I was wondering if we could possibly use your image of Kenneth M. Taylor (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pis&GRid=16952669&PIgrid=16952669&PIcrid=49269&PIpi=8433917&) for his respective article and possibly others. Right now Wikipedia is one of the most-viewed websites on the Internet, and it is possible that hundreds of thousands of people could see your image over time. If you give us permission, I would upload the images for use on the page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kenneth_M._Taylor and possibly other articles. We would give you the credit and include a link back to your Find a Grave profile or anywhere you wish.

We can only use your image if you are willing to grant permission for it to fall under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_the_GFDL), the Creative Commons Attribution (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/), or the Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike License (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/). It would be your choice of how you want your image covered, so if you do want to allow the use of the images, take a look at the three licenses. The pages state that anyone will have the right to share and, where appropriate, to update your image, while giving you credit. Additionally, the articles state that other people might crop the image further, but you would still have your choice as whom you want as the author of the image. For example, it would look something like en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Samuel_L._Jackson_%282006_Pebble_Beach%29.jpg

Let me know if the image can be used for the free encyclopedia whenever it is convenient for you. If you do choose so, please reply back saying "I agree to release the image of the Kenneth M. Taylor gravestone under the terms of the GFDL license/Creative Commons Attribution/Creative Commons Attribution Sharealike" (whichever one of the three licenses you want to pick). If you have any questions, message me back and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Thanks, and I appreciate your time.

Thank you for writing back to me. If you want people to include your name as the author of the work each time it is used, I would recommend choosing the "Creative Commons Attribution" or the "Creative Commons Attribution Sharealike" license. You will likely not be notified each time that it is used, but I will include a clause on the image's page asking anyone who uses it to contact you when they are using it, so hopefully people will respect that. Also, once I upload the image, I will provide you with a link that you can use to let you know which Wikipedia projects are currently using the image at the time. If you are still interested, please send me back another message specifying if you want the "Creative Commons Attribution" or the "Creative Commons Attribution Sharealike" license for the image to fall under. Thanks again, and let me know if you have any further questions.

I don't know the difference but lets go with "Creative Commons Attribution Sharealike". If there are other photos needed from Arlington National Cemetery let me know and I will gladly take them.
