@Chaipau: The old version has a wrong picture it seems, it's mixed with Devanagari. Other sources have scanned and real images that don't contain Devanagari characters and also match wih other 12th-13th-14th century writings from Assam and Bengal. Msasag (talk) 03:33, 27 October 2019 (UTC)

You can see in this image, the śa in śāka and śāke are different; the ra in Turaga and Kāmarūpa are different; the śa in daśe is like Devanagari; the ta in tu, tro, tyā and another tu are different (first tu has Eastern Nagari-like ta and others have Devanagari-like); the "o" diacritic in tro and yo are different (the original image doesn't even have tro but tra) and so on. @Chaipau: Mixed up? You mean the letters? How can that be possible. The images I've shown also has an unedited picture. If you try to trace its letters you'll fined the same image as those already traced images. Mixing letters from different scripts means it's experimental and not part of the script. But the letters in the unedited picture matches with the other writings of 12th-14th century of Assam, Bengal, Bihar. But yeah since it's an ancestor, it was closer to Devanagari, because Devanagari and Eastern Nagari are related scripts. So it's possible for some letters to have more similarity with Devanagari compared to modern Eastern Nagari has. By the way Devanagari is also called "Nagari" and this term is used for its ancestral forms since 7th century. Msasag (talk) 02:08, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
