The picture represents wrong circulatory system scheme. In real tadpoles, as well as in fish, the gills are located closer to the oral cavity, so the gills can be washed by the swallowed water. But on the image it is located somewhere around the intestine. The blood from gills goes to the arteries which merge into aorta dorsalis, belonging to the dorsal side of the body. Respectively, the deoxygenated blood from the internal organs goes through the ventrally located veins. The heart is also depicted wrong: the atrium and sinus venosus must be above the ventricle and the conus arteriosus. Daor1009 (talk) 07:58, 20 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
