Is it mandatory to use Photo Enhancement Tools after scanning Photographs?

I had read, avoid enhancing the images if I am to upload them to Wiki Commons. Gangaasoonu (talk) 04:12, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Gangaasoonu: what does that have to do with this particular image? If you are asking whether you should overwrite it with an "enhanced" version, the answer is absolutely not. If you want to upload an alternative version under a different filename, that's fine; typically you should link the two with {{Derivative versions}}/{{Derived from}}. - Jmabel ! talk 06:56, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you are asking about your own, original photos, you really have quite a bit of discretion. What I typically do is to first upload exactly what came out of the camera, then overwrite that with my preferred version. See File:Tour of Georgetown PowerPlant Museum 2023-12-09.jpg for an example. On the other hand, for File:Vancouver - Commodore Building pano 01.jpg, which combined several shots, I chose not to upload the individual shots because none of them is a well-composed photo in its own right, nor were they intended to be. I was shooting precisely for the purpose of building a panorama. - Jmabel ! talk 07:05, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Reason I asked about using photo enhancement tools is...
Many images of my uploads are rejected/deleted for
  1. either poor quality or
  2. Deemed to be screenshots
I wanted to know, what is needed to ensure my photos taken from
YashicA camera of 80's 90's
Nokia X2-02 of 2010's and now
Lenovo K3 Note/Lineage is 2020's Gangaasoonu (talk) 00:47, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Gangaasoonu: this seems like a very odd place to discuss that. - Jmabel ! talk 05:29, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
