[[Japanese battleship Yamato]] under construction at the [[Kure]] Naval Base, [[Japan]], [[20 September]], [[1941]]. The aircraft carrier [[Japanese_aircraft_carrier_Hosho|Hosho]] is at the extreme right. The store ship ''Mamiya'' is in the center distance. The photograph is number NH 63433 at the Naval Historical Center's Online Library of Selected Images [--www.history.navy.mil/photos/sh-fornv/japan/japsh-xz/yamato.htm], specifically [--www.history.navy.mil/photos/images/h63000/h63433.jpg], where it is credited to Lieutenant Commander Shizuo Fukui. This isn't US PD - since the photograph was taken in Japan by a Japanese national. However since it was published/photographed before 1956/1946 - the old copyright law applies. Megapixie 01:00, 3 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
