It is regrettable that after all the work of procuring permissions and releases, uploading an high quality and useful image to the community, annotating it, working it through the OTRS approval process, that a censor now objects to the image due to the pose of the model.

To answer some of the rhetorical questions posed: First, the "unknown lady" is Janella Coquette, just as her name states. And she is indeed a swimsuit model; she is not "a physician that saves lives" and is probably not aware that this is a qualification that at least one participant to Wikimedia considers meaningful. With regard to the bathing suit, the red maillot tanga cutout with its spider front is a most distinctive creation of the 2005-2010 period, and one affiliated with the evolution of the maillot of that period. The picture and pose illustrate the swimsuit dramatically and with spirit.

In terms of respectability, it appear that the picture at the royal "we" propose to delete because it is "out of scope" very much does fall into the scope of the wikimedia. The wikimedia project is not only about "actresses" and "physicians that save lives," it is a vast resource of ideas, and ideas about body, form, and sexuality are among what makes the wiki valuable! I observe that this picture has been tagged with two categories, and that these tags are the result of discussions by participants other than the creator. It is correctly tagged as one of 34 images of "woman wearing monokinies," no doubt because it represents a unique garment. It has also been tagged as "Sitting with legs wide open" and is one of 78 images in this category, a category which also includes women in bondage and lesbian scenes with vibrators. There also exist in the wikimedia the catagory of "Bottomless_people_sitting_with_legs_wide_open" (21 men and 21 women), "Nude_women_sitting_with_legs_wide_open" (96 images including full figure images as well as closeups of vaginal displays), "Topless_women_sitting_with_legs_wide_open" (13 images including women with hands on their private parts).

By these standards this image is tame. It is a useful, high-quality, high-resolution document of a professional model in an attractive pose. It provides a sedate alternative in categories to which it already exists, documents a sexy fashion trend at a moment in history, and is thoroughly vetted. It has been viewed many time thus proving its utility and is freely available to scholars, publishers, and anyone else in the world to use.

Thank goodness the wikimedia values a vast range of ideas about people places and things, and not just "physicians that save lives." Edge Interactive Publishing Inc. (talk) 16:48, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
