Hoax

[edit]

This file is a hoax, and should not be used - rather, it needs to be deleted. It is not a depiction of Philippe de Vitry but rather is a 15th-century depiction of w:Isidore of Seville, and taken from File:San_Isidoro_de_Sevilla,_del_Maestro_de_la_Colección_Pacully_(Museo_Nacional_de_Escultura_de_Valladolid).jpg (mirrored, cut, and pasted into a new background). The person who uploaded it has been blocked for abusing multiple accounts. Antandrus (talk) 00:46, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed per inscription on the painting mentioned above and per https://images.fineartamerica.com/images/artworkimages/mediumlarge/2/saint-isidore-of-sevilla-miguel-zitow.jpg (mirrored). There is also https://avatars.mds.yandex.net/i?id=bca901ac719f420c26f64df9cd9df0ef-5220021-images-thumbs&n=13. Im wondering how you found it out. --Achim55 (talk) 10:01, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
✓ Done. --Achim55 (talk) 11:59, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There is very interesting thread on my enwiki talk page here. User:Theramin found it; rather remarkable. Of somewhat greater concern is that the person who uploaded it - now indefinitely blocked for sockpuppetry - may have created more than one hoax this way, as is apparent if you dig through his upload log from around the time (July 2011). Some investigation would be needed. (And thank you for your help!) Antandrus (talk) 14:39, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
