Identification
[edit]@Chiswick Chap: Hello. This mushroom is not like Inocybe geophylla var. lilacina, which has a brown underside. I think it is a Cortinarius (in the older wider sense). I propose to change the identification if there is no response. Strobilomyces (talk) 20:49, 30 March 2024 (UTC)
- Um, it may help to know that the fingers holding the mushroom belong to the mycologist Alick Henrici, who among other things assisted Roger Phillips with his book Mushrooms. I carried a notebook on the walk and noted down the identifications each time I took a photo. That doesn't mean nothing can go wrong, but he was definite about this one. - OK, I have seen now that the gills of Inocybe geophylla var. lilacina can be violaceous when young and I will withdraw the comment. Strobilomyces (talk) 12:42, 20 April 2024 (UTC)
