Revert war

Sorry to interrupt your little thing here, but what exactly is the reason for the revert war? And with not a single word on the talkpage? Isn't the image intended for the Spanish Wikipedia and isn't it used there since it was created under its current version? By a Spanish contributor? It seems that the image was intended to be used in its present state. --Laveol (talk) 20:51, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

- The problem was that the map was originally uploaded as "Idioma búlgaro-macedonio", a language that doesn't exist: the file was then moved according to a discussion at http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Fobos92#File:Idioma_b.C3.BAlgao-macedonio.PNG. The map was split between Bulgarian and Macedonian, then a user came by yesterday and change the map back to the original version because of some perceived "Macedonian nationalism" to say the languages are separate. - Laveol, you shouldn't be informed about everything that is going on about Macedonia. I informed the user (the one that created the map, but I informed the "new" user as well) and he added the new map of the BG language in the Spanish article about the BG language. We all know that there is not an issue about the existence of the Macedonian and such doubts are not found in the linguistics (except in some BG circles). If there was such language Bulgaro-Macedonian, than we would have Hispano-Italian, Ukrainian-Russian, Dutch-German etc. This is so obvious that it does not deserve proper discussion, it's enough only one look at the Wikipedia article or any other source. The user, as you can see, is "new" and he is extremely familiar with the functions of Commons so it leaves space for serious doubts about his true intentions. - Nice lecture, but what was the purpose of it? I already said the thing is settled. You could have bothered to write a word here when you initially started edit-warring on the image. I'll try and not think of the you shouldn't be informed about everything that is going on about Macedonia remark as an inflammatory comment, but I hope you do realise this is a map on Bulgarian language and as you said - not of Macedonian? - In fact, MacedonianBoy's comment and comparisons were not entirely accurate. Bulgarian and Macedonian are closely related and form a dialect continuum similar to Serbian and Croatian. Sociolinguists agree that the question whether the two are distinct languages or dialects of a single language cannot be resolved on a purely linguistic basis. Therefore I uploaded the file under a more appropriate name and with more detailed explanations and references here. Tropcho (talk) 00:10, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
