Not Cardiff

[edit]

This isn't Cardiff. This is a grand street on a fairly steep hill, with some sort of gate or arch at the top. Cardiff town centre was, and still is, flat (being next to a river). St Peter Street is shown to the right of this photo, but St Peter Street in Cardiff is in a quiet residential area.
Having extensively sorted photos of towns in Wales, I don't recognise it as any other Welsh town. I thought it could be Park Street, Bristol, but the buildings aren't quite as grand, or diverse on Park Street. But presumably, based on the photographer's geographical area of work, it must be somewhere near to Wales, or in the south or southwest of England. I have considered Chester, but I can't match it to a Chester street (yet). Sionk (talk) 17:34, 1 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
