Only 5 legs?

[edit]

This great animation that is used in several articles as a typical example of a Hexapod / Steward Platform. But, and that could easily confuse readers, this animated pic clearly has only five legs and linear actuators.

Though adding the sixth leg wouldn't help the animation in presenting much more insight in the operation of such platform, as most of it would be hidden behind the front left leg, i think, that fact could easily confuse readers into thinking that five legs / actuators might be enough to get 6 DOF.

Thus I'd suggest to add a remark in the descriptive texts, esecially where this animation is used as typical example, to make it absolutely clear, that a Steward platform needs all 6 actuators / legs, even when the animation shows only five. -- 213.142.96.225 05:23, 4 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
