Lieutenant von Durling, depicted in the picture, visited Shark Island concentration camp in 1905, when he was living Namibia from Luderitz Bay. In that occasion, he took some pictures, between which there is this one. The Herero and Namaqua Genocide, www.ezakwantu.com.
