HMS Newoundland was probably the most rebuilt of the Fiji/ Swiftsure/Superb series of cruisers ( Raven & Roberts), other than the Tigers.The photo shows major structual alteration after its completion in 1942. In Newfoundland both 275 and 262 directors for AA the 275 presumably for the control of the twin 4 inch mounts which will be the slightly improved model refitted in the 1950s and the 262 for the Mk 5 40mm. THe RN got abotu 7 years service from the Newfoundland from the rebuilt and Peru another 20 years of regional service. As well as GFS off Malaya in 1955 the Newfoundland also served in the Red Sea during the 1956 Suez crisis and sunk a Egyptian Black Swan sloop armed with 6 four inch guns. THe final rN cruiser gun success in surface action probably.
