[edit]The logo was made by Thomas Wittek for this contest. This announcement says “The winning submitter must agree to assign the copyright to the FSF and attach no other restrictions to the use of the logo.” Is the logo really public domain, or is it under the respective versions of GNU GPL? --AVRS (talk) 20:17, 2 January 2009 (UTC)
- Clearly, {{PD-self}} is not correct. Uploader made a (rather inefficiently coded) SVG file, but this is a derivative of a work copyrighted by the FSF. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 08:16, 21 September 2009 (UTC)
- The original file is here in the git repo under the artwork branch: http://git.gnupg.org/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?p=gnupg.git;a=blob;f=artwork/gnupg-logo.svg;h=c1844365c6842d15a435ecdf2ee889268db65302;hb=HEAD . After 8 years with incorrect license I will finally fix it and remove from backlog. --dsprc (talk) 18:33, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
