This is most likely not Valldal, perhaps photographer was called Valldal. Looks very much like the road to Geiranger from Skjåk/Grotli (present road 63), the road to Mt Dalsnibba (Nibbevegen) barely visible on the slopes in the background. The small lake is probably Langvasstjønna. The stone marker near the car is probably the county line. --Erik den yngre (talk) 20:05, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
