This fanciful map is nonsense

[edit]

This "own work", unsourced map is fanciful nonsense. Italy never had a concession or an "Italian area" in Shanghai. Lubiesque (talk) 17:45, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Italy had a "jointly held concession" in the International Settlement of Shanghai and this territory was limited by the yellow line in the map.--Hvalencia (talk) 17:01, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lubiesque, here it is a proof that the map is not "fanciful":

translation from excerpts written by Greg Leck in his "Captives of Empire - The Japanese Internment of Allied Civilians in China, 1941-1945" in forum: [1]....As showed by this map : shanghai settlements.jpg, Shanghai International Settlement was consisted by two areas, the yellow area, which had a huge Japanese neighborhood and was controled by Japanese naval troops (1) after 1937, and the red area, took over by Japanese troops in 1941, was secured by British (2), American (3) and Italian (4) troops. The blue area was French settlement. Japanese intended to declare it "open city" in 1942, to store war materials and supplies to avoid allied air raids, but the proposal was refused by British and American.Area (4), (5) and (7) were called "Outside Roads", 越界筑路, Chinese territories that were controled and administrated by settlement authorities. Area (4) (Italian) and (5) (British) belonged to the International Settlement, and (7) was attached to French Settlement.British troops withdrew from area (5) after August 1940, then it was took over by Japanese troops. French troops withdrew from area (7) after June 1940......--Ken93y (talk) 21:27, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
