This text was typeset with a computer:

  • There is a visible emulation of a light grey background.
  • A ' and not a ’ is used for the apostrophe, which strongly indicates that the latter wasn’t easily available (which does not hold for historical typesetting).
  • The title contains spelling mistakes – according to any orthography of the last 300 years –, namely linkſrheiniſchen instead of linksrheiniſchen and Ludwigſeiſenbahn instead of Ludwigseiſenbahn
  • The body uses no long s and Heyse’s s-spelling: Otherwise dass would either be spelt daß or daſs.
  • In the title, K and ö in Köln clearly collide, something that is physically impossible with movable type.
  • There are none of the typical artifacts of other typesetting methods.

It’s certainly not from 1859 but very likely created after 1996, which explains the spelling mistakes (after the decline of blackletter) and the Heyse spelling (after the spelling reform of 1996).
