This image uploaded by User:Daderot needs to be renamed.

Because of lack of resemblance, I first thought it might have undergone drastic restoration like an episodes on Bothched. But actually, the Feejee Mermaid was destroyed by fire, and this is a different object.

The Peabody website[1] says this came from Moses Kimball's collection, but does not say this is the Feejee Mermaid itself.

Hi there! I don't have any opinion as to whether this is or isn't the Fiji mermaid. However, I did transcribe the Peabody Museum's description for the photograph's title; that is the museum's description, not mine. As they are a reputable museum, I suggest more investigation before changing the photograph's name. with best wishes, Daderot (talk) 09:14, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
