Accuracy doubted

[edit]

Do any sources exist for this map or is "own work" the only information? Indeed, this map seems to be a private creation and not more than a collection of all allied claims for 1915 and 1916. Just a few examples, of course, there are more doubts than these few.

  1. The Middle East ist divided as planned in Syces-Picot-agreement. However, this agreement was made in 1916, not yet in 1915. Furthermore it also includes some later additional partition agreements with Russia and Italy, these would be italian and russian plans, not french plans. Same problem with the italian claims in the Alpes and the Adria, usually France would have preferred a more pro-serbian solution.
  2. Izmir in 1915 was still planned as italian zone, not yet greek. The Straits until 1917 were planned as russian zone, not before the russian revolutionaly collapse it was planned to become neutral zone.
  3. The 1907 British-Russian agreement about Persia is included. This were zones of influences, not territorial claims and it was not a french plan, even if France accepted this deal among its allies. Later, 1914 oder 1915, Russian and Britain agreed that the former neutral zone between russian and british sphere should be british influence zone, too, but it is not to be seen in the map.
  4. Bohemia (without Moravia) is independent. I am not sure if french plans in 1915 already were that detailed (and wrong, the Moravia mistake) about Bohemia. However, it was a russian claim, and it were there Russians who made the Moravia mistake.

But all these and more details and mistakes are unimportant. The only important thing is that any source is mentioned. What this doubtful map creation is based on? --Roxanna (talk) 21:59, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

According to this discussion I altered the description and source, so the image should be ok, and everybody should know what it shows. --Don-kun (talk) 12:02, 29 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
