Translations

[edit]
Translated picture

I translated this image to Czech way back in 2015. I know, it's pretty late for it, but this section might actually be great place for translation discussion. I noticed that there is a note about the image translability and it also offers a MediaWiki tool for it. That's convenient. Make sure to keep the file licence of course, whatever tool you want to use for translations. Way back then, I think there wasn't any fancy MW tool that would allow me easily translate things, I had to use an external app for this. Cool to see how tools are evolving and how new and easier tools are emerging. My translation is available for Czech Wikipedia in case someone expands a stub article about this geological tool. Best wishes… — Polda18 (talk pagecontributions) 12:11, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

So what I ended up doing is uploading direct translations using the SVG Translate tool into English, Czech and I also added original German language as well. The old translated picture that is displayed on the right of this section was made 7 years ago and now it serves no purpose. I still can't see language selection dropdown menu, browser cache clearing didn't help, purge feature of Commons didn't help, I guess I got an old page structure stuck in the browser cache (the image displays in English language, so that works), a reboot will probably get this fixed. If you find any kind of issue with it, feel free to revert changes before translate tool usage. -- Polda18 (talk pagecontributions) 18:05, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Language selector

[edit]
Translated picture – new version from SVG Translate tool

I uploaded a new version of this file created with SVG Translation tool, which created switch tag with different languages. I of course added the original German language, which is also an implicit language, and I've added English and Czech translations to it. Somehow, the language selector below the image isn't showing up. I am certain that this cannot be a browser cache bug or a cache bug on MediaWiki as I've had this issue before, MW cache purge didn't help, browser cache purge didn't help, and it is bugged even after several reboots of my computer. Does anybody else see a language selector below this image? Linking the image seems to work properly to display the image on a page, but link to the image specifically says to use Czech language on the page of the image itself, but English annotations are used instead. It's not even an implicit language selection. How can I display the language selector below the image and how do I get it working? So I've updated the file description to use {{Mld}} template, and now it DOES show the language selector, but it only works on the file description, not the image itself. How can I get it working on the image itself as well? Polda18 (discussioncontributions) 07:09, 10 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
