There is something not right about this photograph. Presumably it had been scanned and then touched up somehow. The tone on the left does not match the tone on the right, and there is a clear line that highlights this. The quality seems to differ slightly in various regions and has the appearance that it has been scanned and patched together. The background has been cut out poorly, which is particularly noticeable at the border of the subject's hair.
I would suggest contacting the author or obtaining the original and re-editing it, or removing it from Wikipedia and replacing it with a better image of the subject.
