Yes, and the same editor also changed Belarus to yellow even though that hasn't been confirmed. ―Jochem van Hees (talk) 09:08, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

On May 28, 2021, the EBU, the Belarusian state broadcaster BTRC, decided to suspend membership in the EBU in connection with the political situation in the country, which, however, requires participation in the Eurovision Song Contest. However, the EBU has granted BTRC the right to appeal against the decision until June 10, 2021. The country had already been disqualified in 2021. [42] By the time the ultimatum had expired, the BTRC had not filed a complaint and the suspension took effect. Kematen (talk) 12:43, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not stupid or anything. That is clear. It is so that Belarus has been deprived of its rights to participate by the EBU because of the political situation. And Crimea is really tricky. I know. But the people of Crimea voted (95.5 %) to become part of the Russian Federation. Kematen (talk) 12:46, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The head of the electoral commission, Mikhail Malyshev, announced a preliminary result that 95.5 percent of the votes cast were in favor of the reunification of Crimea with Russia with the rights of a subject of the Russian Federation. For a restoration of the validity of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Crimea and for Crimea's status as part of Ukraine, 3.5 percent voted and 1.0 percent were invalid ballot papers. The turnout was around 82 percent. Kematen (talk) 12:46, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

About the Belarusian participation: yes, they have been suspended, and yes, suspension makes participation unlikely, but definitely not impossible. Maybe another Belarusian broadcaster steps in, maybe the suspension gets lifted, or maybe they get invited anyway (like Australia, which isn't even a full member of the EBU). In any case, it is not up to Wikipedia to predict that Belarus won't participate. (For that reason, Belarus is not listed as a non-participating country on the English Wikipedia.) ―Jochem van Hees (talk) 12:55, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kematen: see w:Political status of Crimea. The majority of the international community does not recognize the Russian annexation, for a number of reasons; that is why Crimea is displayed on the map as being part of Ukraine. Whether you, or I, or any other user, agrees or not does not matter, because we need to stay neutral. イヴァンスクルージ九十八(会話) 13:30, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I mean there is no way to stay "neutral" here since you have to draw that border somewhere. It would be fine to create a map where Crimea is part of Russia (similar to File:ESC 2015 Map (borders as recognised by the Russian Federation).png). It's just that you shouldn't change these things on existing files. ―Jochem van Hees (talk) 14:51, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes of course, what I mean is there is obviously a reason behind Crimea displaying within Ukraine on such maps, which is the thing Kematen dislikes. イヴァンスクルージ九十八(会話) 15:05, 16 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The Azerbaijani representative has been announced. @Szyign, Aris Odi, Aleki37, and So Hood: could any of you guys color the country green? Thanks in advance! IvanScrooge98 (talk) 13:13, 16 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Request for a new color/change of the description

[edit]

I would like to request a new colour and a change of the description - at the moment "green" stands for "Countries that have already selected their entrant and/or song" - I would like to change it into "Countries that have already released their entry/song".

Then I would add a colour - e.g. blue, which should stand for "Countries that have already selected their entrant and/or song".

This change would give an overview, which songs are known - and which songs are not known right now.—Citius Altius Fortius (talk) 07:00, 9 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
