Galileo's telescope was actually worse

[edit]

The actual aperture of Galileo's telescope objective was only 15 mm rather than 37 mm, due to a limiting diaphragm (see https://catalogue.museogalileo.it/object/GalileosTelescope_n01.html). Thus, the angular resolution was somewhat more than twice worse compared to what appears in the current file. Dan Gluck (talk) 18:43, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, @Dan Gluck: [1] concurs. That's very interesting – would you know why he limited it by so much? Cheers, cmɢʟee ⋅τaʟκ 13:46, 22 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
