[edit]

I cannot fix the fonts in this SVG file. I download the file and it looked right in Inkspace with MS P Gothic and bolding only for the tile and 3 other labels. Then I uploaded the same exact file, but it seems Commons apply different kind of fonts (looks like Chinese fonts). All the text are in bold as well. Also text in the thumbnail in a jawp article (i.e. デング熱) still looks funky, no matter what I uploaded. Does anyone know how to fix these problems? --Bugandhoney (talk) 16:07, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You would have to either convert the text into paths, or ask localizing the system better. Part of the problem is that the server doesn't seem to have MS fonts installed (and probably any other non-free fonts, too). If you want to try the first option, please take a look at Help:Text and Inkscape for more details. I know no solution I'm suggesting is ideal, but they are the only ones I know. You might have better luck if you ask this kind of questions at COM:GL or COM:GVP, since there you can get attention from a larger (and more knowledgeable) portion of the community. --whym (talk) 10:22, 8 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It worked! Thanks, whim. So this "path" thing converts fonts into vector graphics, huh? Maybe I should find out which Japanese fonts are avilable for the next time. Thanks, again. --Bugandhoney (talk) 18:25, 9 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
