Speedy deletion mark

[edit]

The two marked files File:Demeke Mekonnen.jpg and File:Demeke Mekonnen and Getachew Engida UNESCO.jpg have a valid and FREE license. They are marked on the source page [1] with the following sign: [2]. The file source is marked with CC-by-sa 3.0 and the word: "credit" in the image description, which departs from the UNESCO policy to require the "(c) UNESCO" sign. The files are done by the UNESCO GEM team, so they are the file authors. It is also mentioned on the UNESCO webpage, that the source page of the images (the World Education Blog) is an official web page recognized by the UNESCO - see [3]. A speedy deletion is therefore not justified and the license provided is valid. See also the file page description. --Metrancya (talk) 15:20, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The GEM worldpress site https://gemreportunesco.wordpress.com is not an official UN website so I don't know if its webmaster has to right to freely licence files from UNESCO. As far as I can see, the official GEM webpage doesn't host images but only PDFs reports so it's wrong to state that the image originate from. What I know is that material from the UNESCO site, as well as the subpage https://en.unesco.org/gem-report/ is "for [their personal, non-commercial use"], so seems incompatible with a Creative Commons licence. --Patrick Rogel (talk) 20:50, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
