Where does this symbol come from?

[edit]

Um, where does this symbol come from? I've never seen an astrological symbol for Deimos before, I'm pretty sure they weren't just wildly giving them out by the 1870s, after they stopped giving symbols to all the asteroids. Do we have a cite?--Prosfilaes (talk) 01:11, 15 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

See the source as listed in the symbol description, a homepage of an individual person. There, it is stated: “However, I have not been able to find any symbols for the moons/satellites of other planets [than Earth]. … I have invented symbols for many of the other moons. … I offer these symbols up to the public domain, for use by future astronomers, …” Thus, the symbol is simply a proposal by one person, who honestly does not claim any official status or any previous use. -- Karl432 (talk) 15:01, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
