Where and when? Which Uiver?

[edit]

This is not Schiphol Airport, but Waalhaven Airport, Rotterdam, where the Uiver arrived by ocean steamer Statendam from New York on September 13, 1934. After completion (the wings and propellors had to be installed first) the aircraft made it's first flight over Rotterdam. Hartenhof (talk) 10:59, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, if the photo really had been taken on Schiphol Airport, it should date not from 1934, but from 1983, when a second DC-2 named Uiver and refurbished in historical KLM-livery, was introduced for remembrance flights in 1984. This one did not arrive from Santa Monica and not by Statendam anyway. Hartenhof (talk) 11:30, 26 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
