Wings, etc.

[edit]

The wings of the school (with the floors they span) are as follows (if someone could update the map with the letters (not floor numbers), that'd be great, and if we could have a blank map (without shooting stars) for the main Dawson page, that'd also be great): A: top right (3 to 8) B: top left (3 to 8) C: centre column just below A and B (2 to 5) D: middle right (2 to 5) E: middle left (2 to 5) F: centre column just below D and E (1 to 4, although no F rooms on floor 1) F: area below E wing (on most Dawson maps, both areas have their own letter F) (2 to 4) G: bottom right (1 to 4) H: bottom left (-2 (possibly lower?) to 4)

1D and 1E are inaccessible to the public, the areas that would be 6C, 6D and 6E are part of the library (which also takes up most of 5C), the area directly between the A and B wings is considered C, so C does extend to 6 and 7 (possibly 8?).

The atrium is in the centre column F wing, on the second floor ("upper atrium", ground level) and first floor ("lower atrium", metro level) (the third floor has an overlook over the atrium and most of the F rooms in this block are on the third and fourth floor, the only exception being the student union office in the upper atrium (2F.0)). Also note that ground level is the second floor on the De Maisonneuve entrance, halfway in between the second an third floors in the D and E wings and the third floor in the A and B wings. The main entrance on Sherbrooke St., between A and B wings, enters on floors 4 or 5, depending on if you take the side door or not, meaning that you can enter Dawson directly on any floor between 1 and 5.

More nitpicking: the "connection" between the two F wings doesn't exist; it's just one giant rectangle. Also, the lines separating the wings shouldn't be there (and have been arbitrarily placed or not placed. Just make it one fully connected region and put the letters in the general zone where they should be. This is great work, by the way, I'm just suggesting improvements. Feel free to remove or transfer any of this information when you've finished with it. Telso 18:59, 15 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
