Official depiction — use it instead!
  • I agree with the anonymous above. This “crest” (*) matches the original blazoning and is an interesting heraldic exercise, but is does not match, in many, many details, the canonical depiction. As such, this image may have a place in the Commons, for sure, but it is unsuitable for use in the Wikipedia pages about Lisbon.
(* "crest" is part of a coat of arms, a symbolic ornament above the coronet; this image shows a coat of arms, ironically, one that lacks a crest)

@Tuvalkin: Besides, the mural crown used in this crest was the Spanish one which clearly does not follow any portuguese heraldic rule. I state exactly the same:"it is unsuitable for use in the Wikipedia pages about Lisbon". Kind regards. Dioluisf (talk) 22:57, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Samuele2002: In your renaming to Crest of Lisboa (unofficial).svg the summary says «See discussion page.» Seems that you didn't saw this discussion, though, at least not fully: As explained above, in correct English terminology, "crest" is not the same as "coat of arms", and the one in this image doesn’t even include a crest. Why did you rush to rename this file without correcting that mistake? -- Tuválkin 07:48, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Errors

[edit]

@Ibrahim Muizzuddin and Great Brightstar: There’s two:

  • in the scroll motto "sempre", not *"simpre"
  • all of the coronet should be golden, even the door frames.
