File talk:Conway Scenic Iron Trestle.jpg
"Conway Scenic Iron Trestle.jpg" is incorrectly identified. It is a steel bridge, not iron. It is a 2-span bridge over the Saco River between Glen & Bartlett, NH on the former Maine Central RR's "Mountain Division" between Portland, ME and St. Johnsbury, VT on what is now the Conway Scenic RR. The picture associated with this description is labeled as being on the Boston & Maine RR's "New Hampshire mainline." This is incorrect. The B&M's "New Hampshire Mainline" ran from Boston, North Station to White River Jct., VT via Concord, NH, nowhere near this location. The "Conway Branch" of the B&M ran from Dover, NH through No. Conway to Intervale, where it connected with the Maine Central RR's Mountain Div. I should know all these things, as I am a former Boston & Maine locomotive engineer, now retired and operating trains over this very bridge for the Conway Scenic RR. ~ Alan MacMillan
