Ship identification

[edit]

Of the three ships in the left foreground, the frontmost is the Ajax (IMO 9289518). She has some sister ships, but only one with a four-letter name (Aris, IMO 9289520) but its name is painted on the bow much more compactly, so it's not that ship.

The second ship is either the BW Borg (IMO 9208227) or BW Boss (IMO 9208239). I can't find many contemporary photos to help distinguish them, though a photo of the BW Boss here about 4.5 months later shows a fair amount of discoloration on the hull, which would seem to be unlikely that short a time after this photo. So it seems most probable to be the BW Borg, but not being able to find any photos around that time to compare against makes it difficult to be sure.

The third ship is either the BW Energy (IMO 9232515) or BW Vision (IMO 9232503). Photos are again hard to come by, but one difference appears to be some horizontal piping in front of the "LPG" sign near the middle of the ship. They are painted all white on the BW Energy, as seen here and other photos (the previous livery also had them white), while two horizontal pipes are painted red on the BW Vision on photos both before and after this one (as seen here). This photo appears to have those pipes white, so I think it's the BW Energy, but the resolution isn't quite good enough to be entirely sure. Carl Lindberg (talk) 03:52, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
