Okay - which object is it?

[edit]

hitching a ride on The Stateman hauled by 34046 "Braunton" & D1962D1935 "Roger Hoskins" surely is certainly one incredulous way to get a picture of a sewer vent! The question I have is which object is it. From the historic buildings photo one would think it is the long tall pole with what almost look like a weathercock on the top, but I am more inclined to think it is the squat short cylindrical yoke on the right. If someone can sniff out the answer I guess that might be useful. thankyou. -- User:Djm-leighpark(a)talk 17:02, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The short stubby thing also has a duplicate near a replica? signal box near Nutbourne. Other Sewer Ventilation pipes seem to be long and thin like this. -- User:Djm-leighpark(a)talk 22:07, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The photo on https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1420682?section=official-list-entry, and the description say it's the thing that looks like a wind vane. Secretlondon (talk) 02:00, 9 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
