SVG hardcoding

[edit]

Basically the current edit is a very nice work. The only point that one may concern is that all the curves' plot data is hardcoded in the SVG source, which makes the potential subsequent revisions extremely difficult.

One may give a Gnuplot code to generate this image. But by doing this it may negatively reduce the current elegancy. --IkamusumeFan (talk) 10:48, 8 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Correctness

[edit]

Is this plot correct? Particularly for k=1, the graph looks qualitatively different to the one shown in this source: https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/mathematics/chi-square-distribution Cesiumfrog (talk) 06:05, 29 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I believe it is, see for example https://mathworld.wolfram.com/Chi-SquaredDistribution.html --Nick the engineer (talk) 06:20, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

However, the equation has a typo: the degrees of freedom is k in the text and LHS subscript but is represented by n on the RHS --Nick the engineer (talk) 06:20, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Corrected the typo. --Nick the engineer (talk) 06:26, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The description within the SVG file needs to be corrected (contains the same typo) and the png files need to be regenerated so that the exif information in those is also corrected. --Nick the engineer (talk) 07:01, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
