"Poisonous weed" or "poisonous plant"

I suspect the plant was there long before the cattle, quietly growing in its native habitat. Is it appropriate to call a plant which was there long before the cattle, a weed? MargaretRDonald (talk) 20:23, 26 May 2018 (UTC)
