Template:WikiProject United States Despite the provenance of this image, it is incorrect. The paddlewheels it shows are mounted side by side, whereas they were in fact mounted one abaft the other. See Battles and leaders, vol. 2, p. 49, or the Official records of the navies, vol. 18, p. 288, for a sketch of the correct arrangement. For a reasonably accurate image of the ship, see Tony Gibbons, Warships and naval battles of the Civil War (Gallery Books, 1989), pp. 10-11.
