This bridge looks like a w:bascule bridge, but it's actually a w:swing bridge. The pivot is underneath the gray shack. The bridge was symmetrical once, but the owner of the land on the south side didn't want the bridge swinging across his property. The railroad removed much of the south side of the bridge and replaced it with a concrete shell to balance it out. --Elkman 13:31, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
