The upper picture is described as "Bardin sur voiturette de Dion". This is the motorcycle, tricycle, and racecar driver Pierre Bardin, who ist best remembered for his success with De Dion-Bouton vehicles. The voiturette, of course, is a Vis-à-vis. It can be identified as a Type E or G by the presence of rear wheel brake drums (earlier models had ger and shaft brake drums), and separate gear change lever (earlier models had a gear change hand wheel on a thicker steering column). The only difference between the interim model E and Type G is the engine. E used the 3½ HP, 402 cc engine of the former Type D, Model G got a new 4½ HP 499 cc engine. Type G is unlikely here, as this picture was taken in November, 1900, while Type G was introduced in 1901.--Chief tin cloud (talk) 09:46, 26 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
