The cocoon mass displayed on this picture is undoubtedly this of a Cotesia species, but not this of Cotesia glomerata. The plant on this picture is a rose. The host is a Lasiocampidae, most likely Lasiocampa trifolii or L. quercus, which are commonly encountered feeding on the leaves of roses in Europe. Cotesia glomerata is not associated with these moth and plant species. There are over 300 described species of Cotesia and many more to describe, so we should not assume that an unknown coccon mass is this of C. glomerata, especially when it is not on a Brassicaceae.
