Dear Dr Kassim, greetings!

I want to thank you for the fantastic photograph that you took. Surely the angle that you aimed was accidental, but matches almost perfectly with the one on the attached stamp.

This 1961 one shilling denomination of the special postage stamp (colour brown, blue and olive), issued to commemorate independence and with the subject of 'Maternity'. One of the nurses there, Mary Mzinga, the daughter of Massy Swynnerton's secretary Stephen Mzinga, was honoured in an unusual way before she left for advanced training in England; showning her presenting a new born infant to a proud mother. All these occured at the Maternity wing of the Hospital, which some years previously had been funded with 35.000£ by Christos Galanos. The GALANOS inscription, is barely visible at the facade of the building (between the windows of the 2nd. and the 3rd. floor), thus honouring the benefactor.[1]

Once again THANK YOU!
