Reworking

[edit]

The image needs reworking - the western borders of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and Communist Yugoslavia towards Italy are very different (Istria and the Slovenian coastline were Italian, so were the cities of Zadar and Rijeka). --PaxEquilibrium (talk) 21:57, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reworked to show border of Italy 1918-1947, Italian unification, and Nazi-statlets. -- Esemono (talk) 23:31, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rework

[edit]
  • Add Greece 1881 conquest
  • Fix Moldavia and Wallachia

Austria-Hungary

[edit]

After 1867, "Austrian Empire" should be relabelled as "Austria-Hungary." Also why are there so many unlabelled parts throughout the whole sequence. Also, I think it should be slowed down.--72.138.86.251 00:23, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Done but I didn't slow it down ... how slow should it be ... as in how many seconds per slide? -- Esemono 12:53, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

wrong map

[edit]

Hi, Esemono! I don't like to say this, but this map has a mistake: the principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia are not mentioned in the map at all. They never belonged directly to the Ottoman Empire, but they always were vassal to the Ottoman Empire (like Serbia since 1817). Cheers! --Olahus (talk) 16:13, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've added Wallachia and Moldavia as vassals of the Ottoman Empire until the merged into Romania in 1862. But I'm still a little hazy on their exact status. -- Esemono

Rework

[edit]
  • Add loss of Turkish territory as a result of 1920 Treaty.
  • Label Montenegro again
Done -- Esemono 12:54, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Independent Serbia

[edit]

Independent Serbia existed 1804-1813.

... And it still exists! In the list of Modern Day Countries, Serbia is missing. It should be added, since the map does show it in 2008.....--Maduixa (talk) 09:04, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ionian Islands

[edit]

The Ionian Islands are labelled as part of England as ENG. But can change ENG to UK? 78.148.100.102 19:44, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Croatia during WW2

[edit]

As Croatian myself, I feel it is my duty to point out that modern Croatia rejects association with Facist regime of WW2 which called itself Nezavisna Država Hrvatska (Independent State of Croatia or NDH). This is evident in Constitution of the Republic of Croatia[[1]], under Historical Foundations section which addresses Croatia's right to claim sovereignty, particularly the line: - establishing the foundations of state sovereignty during the course of the Second World War, by the decisions of the Antifascist Council of National Liberation of Croatia (1943), as opposed to the proclamation of the Independent State of Croatia (1941).

Seeing that current version calls NDH just plain Croatia, I think it is important to label NDH as NDH, to avoid confusion with modern day Croatia. Republic of Croatia is a country built on democratic foundations and it is important to distinguish it clearly from Facist regime in power during WW2. --78.3.245.133 15:23, 24 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
