Lettering

[edit]

Proof that it's not fake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0p9NvyojvF8 — Preceding unsigned comment added by AgentRevo (talk • contribs) 17:33, 12 April 2015‎ (UTC)[reply]

The point was that at the time of photography (about mid-January 2015) the lettering had not yet been added according to several sources on the NASA Spaceflight forums. The lettering was added some time between January 8 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZLG9m1idkI) and March 14 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq3BRoPcBc8). I only wish I knew of more photographic evidence to narrow that time down further. Huntster (t @ c) 23:56, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Flickr says photo was taken on Feb 25, 2015. If you zoom, you can definitely see it was manually painted on the deck. If you compare it with the current picture (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/97/SpaceX_ASDS_in_position_prior_to_Falcon_9_Flight_17_carrying_CRS-6_%2817127808431%29.jpg), you can see the lettering is absolutely identical. The picture that has the fake lettering is this one: http://media1.s-nbcnews.com/i/newscms/2015_06/880246/150206-barge_4d38a8eb34422447df8b8fbc4623fd0e.jpg, which is an edit of this one: http://www.spacex.com/sites/spacex/files/autonomous_spaceport_drone_ship.jpg, and as far as I know it's the only one with fake lettering at all. --AgentRevo (talk) 23:51, 16 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
